Michael, Lovely guitar and wood combination. The narra looks very different in terms of coluor in each photo. Does it look different in different lights and reflections, or which of the photos is most like real life. Personally I love the way it looks in the last picture you have posted. |

Ooooooooooooooooooooh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! (Just like watching fireworks!) If she sings half as pretty as she looks, you've got a killer guitar there! Before it disappears, maybe you could get a sound clip? Dennis |

michael, it looks amazing. well done. in dreaming of my future builds i thought that flamed back and sides with flamed bindings would look too busy. your guitar proves that's not the case. nothing but beauty. and your right about needing help with the hose. that back is stunning. phil |

That's a stunner, Michael. I want it. Is that the OLF SJ shape, or - ? |

It is the same shape as the OLF SJ. But since the OLF came about by me donating a version of my plans to the forum, I will say this one is my SJ shape ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Gorgeous Michael. How did you like working with the Narra?
I guess I should say a little more about working with this wood. It works great. Like any high figure curly wood bending tight bend is a issue. the curl want to separate in tight bends. On this set I had a little separation on the inside of the upper bout. I fixed it with CA using a rounded caul, cam clamps and some non stick tape. Actually the outer cover for double sided tape carpet tape it is like a thin sheet of teflon. This kept the Ca from sticking to the clamping caul. Outside of the figure separating in tight bend the stuff works like koa. In fact it taps a lot like Koa just a bit brighter. It smells sweet. It does make me sneeze when sanding. It sands easy, does have moderate pores, but it is pretty scatch resistant. Glues very well. no noticable oils. is not bad about color transfer. |
